Socially-Conscious Geeks Bring Down Global Criminals with Christine Jung

Socially-Conscious Geeks Bring Down Global Criminals

Christine Jung is President of Blue Compass, an IT consulting firm specializing in Data Science and Innovation Management. Christine looks for ways to leverage Blue Compass’ innovation and data skills for positive social impact. She recently directed a virtual hackathon to combat child trafficking with almost 200 participants, including hackers around the world.

Child trafficking is a local problem with global connections; NoVA is actually one of the most active human trafficking hubs in the country with many victims hidden in plain sight. Unfortunately, technology can be both an enabler and solution. Blue Compass sees these hackathons as an incubator for innovative solutions, as well as a way to inspire and create synergy amongst developers for making positive social impact. Let’s join the fight to combat human trafficking using technology for good.
